Powell Gee Technical Sales Manager x 1

Location: Field based (Midlands)

We are currently looking to recruit a Powell Gee Technical Sales Manager to be field based, with regular visits to the Atcham site.  This position will report directly to the Powell Gee Sales Director.

Role Overview:

The role is both a sales and technical support role. The role will be divided into sales and margin responsibility for specific accounts and to provide technical support both within the business and in the field with customers.  The role will also include maintaining strong external customer relations as well as working with the Purchasing and Engineering departments within the business.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 Sales

  • Visit current customers to maintain and develop the sales of products into them
  • Identify and win new customers
  • To develop and nurture strong relationships with current and new customers
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant products, industry trends, regulations and approval bodies, and look for new customer and new product opportunities within the sector Powell Gee operates
  • Ensure all customer issues are resolved efficiently, effectively and professionally
  • Work closely with customers ensuring they understand the range on offer and have the technical knowledge and information required to make the correct purchasing decisions
  • Work with customers, specifiers and architects to ensure the Powell Gee range is specified at design stage
  • Assist in all aspects of CE/UKCA/FM industry approvals

 

Technical Support

  • To offer technical support to contractors/third parties, including site visits and product testing on site to all Powell Gee customers and installers
  • Work with customers/architects to ensure the Powell Gee range is specified at design stage
  • Assist in all aspects of CE/UKCA/FM approvals
  • Staff and customer product training, including creation of training material
  • Supporting the creation of sales and marketing material that require technical input and/or data
  • Liaise with customers upon developing new specifications and design proposals for specific product applications
  • Manage the flow of information to the procurement team and develop with suppliers accordingly
  • Support the product management team with evaluation of competitor product ranges and specifications
  • Report and investigate any product complaints which may include customer site visits
  • Assist in the development of our on-site testing and inspection service

 

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven knowledge and experience in the fastener and fixing industry
  • Proven knowledge and experience in a sales and/or technical role within the construction sector, which includes excellent product knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an excellent eye for detail
  • Be comfortable and skilled at delivering sales and technical presentations
  • Must be a confident project driver, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to deadlines
  • Success driven with an eye for hitting targets and looking at new ways to deliver on sales strategy and objectives
  • Good Excel skills and comfortable working with key Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Tenacious and a self-starter
