Part Numbering
We like to think our part numbers are the most logical on the market, but we appreciate they still take some getting used to!
If you would like to quote another company’s reference, our experienced Sales Team are able to translate their codes into ours for you.
When building our codes, we start with the prefix which relates to the fastener’s application:
- HT = high thread – composite panel fixing
- 4H = hex head tapcon
- 4C = countersunk tapcon
Then, we include the total length of the fixing under the head (mm):
- Example: 300 = 300mm
This is followed by a ‘.’ and the drill point type/number:
- .1 = no 1 point drill (stitcher)
- .2 = no 2 point drill (for light section)
- .3 = no 3 point drill (for medium section)
- .5 = no 5 point drill (for heavy section)
Next comes the application:
- MS = megastitcher
- S = for timber
- FC = for fibre cement
- FCT = for fibre cement to timber
- KZ = for halters to purlins
We then have details of the material of the fastener:
- [Blank] = carbon
- SS = stainless steel
- (A4) = grade 316 stainless steel
The head type comes next:
- [Blank] = hex head
- LP = low profile
- C = countersunk
- T = winged countersunk
- CF = clip fix
For coloured fixings we insert the colour code here:
- [Blank] = not coloured
- Example: 12B27 = RAL Code, per our standard colours
If there is a washer, we specify its diameter:
- [Blank] = no washer
- Example: 16 = 16mm
Then comes the material of the washer:
- [Blank] = no washer
- G = galvanised
- A = aluminium
- S = stainless steel
- W = EPDM (11mm diameter)
If the fastener is modified, we finally specify by which method:
- [Blank] = no modification
- PC = powder coated head
- NY = bi-hex moulded nylon head
