Part Numbering
We like to think our part numbers are the most logical on the market, but we appreciate they still take some getting used to!
If you would like to quote another company’s reference, our experienced Sales Team are able to translate their codes into ours for you.
- When building our codes we always start with the total length of the fixing under the head (mm)
- 22 = 22mm
- 130 = 130mm
- 300 = 300mm
- etc
- This is followed by a ‘.’ and the drill point type/number
- .1 = no 1 point drill
- .2 = no 2 point drill
- .5 = no 5 point drill
- etc
- Next comes the application if relevant, some are placed before the fastener length and others after the drill point (this should be the only confusing part!)
- (Prefix) HT = high thread
- (Prefix) 4H = hex head tapcon
- (Prefix) 4C = countersunk tapcon
- (Suffix) MS = megastitcher
- (Suffix) S = timber
- (Suffix) FC = fibre cement
- (Suffix) FCT = fibre cement to timber
- (Suffix) KZ = halter to purlins
- We then have details of the material of the fastener
- [Blank] = carbon
- SS = stainless steel
- (A4) = grade 316 stainless steel
- The head type comes next
- [Blank] = hex head
- LP = low profile
- C = countersunk
- T = winged countersunk
- CF = clip fix
- For coloured fixings we insert the BS/RAL code here
- [Blank] = not coloured
- 10A05 = goosewing grey
- 12B27 = olive green
- etc
- If there is a washer we specify its diameter
- [Blank] = no washer
- 16 = 16mm
- 19 = 19mm
- etc
- Then comes the material of the washer
- [Blank] = no washer
- G = galvanised
- A = aluminium
- S = stainless steel
- W = EPDM (11mm diameter)
- If the fastener is coloured, we finally specify by which method
- [Blank] = no modification
- PC = powder coating
- NY = bi-hex nylon moulding
