Colleague Spotlight: Demi Wade, Powell Gee Sub Assembly Coordinator

For International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating Demi Wade, Powell Gee Sub Assembly Co-ordinator. Demi plays an important role in keeping production on track — planning schedules and lead times, supporting team leaders, working with sales, improving efficiency, and reducing lead times.

Tell us a bit about the role you do within the Tibbetts Group?

“My role is a sub assembly coordinator. I plan production, lead time, and support the team leaders in the sub assembly operations. I also co-ordinate with sales to manage the customers’ expectations and allow capacity to deal with curveballs.”

Have you worked in this role throughout your career?

“During my time at PG I have gained extensive knowledge on all aspects of the sub assembly processes and have watched the demands grow. I then also started working on the Moulding machines and supporting the kitting functions. Once my knowledge and confidence grew, I became a shift lead, which involved being a point of contact for the team, managing colour changes and any escalations. I have recently taken on the co-ordinator role which is more admin based, and I have been challenged with learning more about Winman and how the system works. I work closely with the sales team to coordinate production planning and occasionally roll my sleeves up to help the team get things over the finish line.”

What is your favourite aspect of your role?

“My favourite part of the role is how challenging it can be. It is also rewarding to see the projects completed and shipped. I also enjoy learning more aspects of the business and developing my knowledge on the business.”

What are your future goals?

“My future goals are to exceed expectations and excel in this role, fully owning my responsibilities and to grow with the business needs. I also want to help build efficiency in the processes that we already have.”

Are there any significant projects which you are currently working on?

“I am currently working on trying to move operations in a more efficient and smooth-running way, ensuring finished stock is available for same day sales. I am also looking to help reduce lead times where possible.”

What is something that people tend to under-estimate about the role you do?

“People tend to underestimate the challenges that can arise with the role. Having 5 production schedules to manage each day can be a challenge within itself. We also must ensure that the right product is delivered to the right customer within the agreed timeframe.”

What advice would you give your younger self?

“Stop doubting yourself and give yourself some credit.”

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

“Outside of work, I spend a lot of my time with my family and my sprocker spaniel, Bea. I enjoy walking and finding new places to explore. I also enjoy baking in my spare time.”
